Safety is a priority at the club and we are pleased to have a great safety record. It’s very important that all members are fully aware of potential hazards, how these can be avoided, and what to do in an emergency. The club has created a new safety document for this purpose which will be regularly updated. Do let us know if you need to advise others of new hazards or wish to add anything.  To find the document click here, or from the top menus, click The Club and then Risk Assessment. Let the club know if you have any comments by clicking the “comment” link below.

Actual 2010 Fun day pic.
The smiles say it all…. another lovely day on the club beach, very warm and sunny as predicted! SE F2/3 winds fueled some excellent relay racing on the Fanatic Vipers. Ben’s team (slightly heavier weights) vs Gareth’s team. Neck and neck most of the way with Ben’s team pulling through in the end despite having the penalty of a smaller board and sail. Then into the freestyle competition judged by Chairman Dave Black and former UK Freestyle Champion Ben.
Lunch was to the usual high standards, thanks to Wendy.
Three races off  ‘the point’ in the afternoon topped off a typical social HWC fun day. Tony West wrapped his sail on the post to the amusement of all and Lisa’s laughter and race tactics almost brought the race to a standstill! Best parrot category, upwind 360s, best beginner, together with mens, ladies and childrens race winners – all amounted to some inventive judging and prizes all-round. Thanks to all, see you next year!    Please leave a comment!

If you want to do some racing then please keep an eye on the Forum pages for dates. One of the club’s members has offerred to take the lead and run some racing in the next few weeks. Just turn up on the day, agree some waypoints and off you go.
