Fantastic fun day, probably the best one yet. A little warmer than forecast at 24 deg, F4 gusts, dry and southerly. Great turn out, I counted 37 at lunch time, so that’s another record breaker for a club FD.

Great to have Quayside Windsurfers support the event, Neil, Stephen, Ray, plus lady photographer (sorry didn’t catch the name) Very big QSW van, small speakers, tall flags and some very sexy windsurfing kit to show.  Members attending: Mike, JT, Graham, Lisa, Simon, Kathy, Dave T, Neil G, Geoffrey, Tone, a rabbit, Wendy, Darren, Keith, Jonny C, Chris, Dave H, Dave B, Steve, Martin, Gareth, Richard, JC, Ros, Marie, plus a load of others but not sure of names. Please add other names to a comment and I’ll add you in.

Nicely powered up for two races before lunch with Martin and Gareth both having a P1, and P2 . With dropping wind Martin swapped from the 8m to his trusty 9m, Gareth changed tactic by trying out the QSW £2k plus board and fully cammed Serverne  sail. Martin bagged the next P1 with Gareth hot on his heels. Dave H took first place in race 4 followed by Martin and Gareth. Overall result was Martin, Gareth and Dave H. Wendy took the ladies 1st place, with Marie 2nd, Lisa 3rd. A scattering of prizes for new members, best rabbit, etc.

Food was up to the usual high standard, thanks Wendy. (We learned that Long Stratton sausages are actually made in Hickling so that’s a nice link). QSW should have some video soon. So great weather, food, lovely people, good competition, my P1,  and all based from our private beach that has to be one of the most beautiful locations on the broads.  Thanks again to everyone for making it so successful.   Fun day?  … absolutely!

It’s  exactly what it says on the tin. All members are welcome to join in for fun, food, and fooling around on the water. Some relaxing light hearted competition and socialising down on the beach – what could be better?

!!!!!! The forecast is perfect ! Force 4, southerly and 22 Deg C !!!!!!!

The first major club event of the year, it’s a good opportunity to improve your skills to help get more fun out of  your Windsurfing. We will have our RYA qualified instructors on hand and it’s free of charge. The agenda is all down to you, we can offer advice from beginner to expert level, whether it’s developing the basics or perfecting your carve gybes.

With rising temperatures, then it’s a good time to have some fun down on the water and meet other members. We hope you can make it.

W4CR. For those that want to give something back, then we are also having our W4CR event on the 1 May. You can do this as well if you like, but please don’t feel you need to. The process is simple – set your challenge, get some sponsors, get the form off the W4CR page or make up your own, come along on the 1 May, adjust your personal challenge to suit the wind conditions, and go for it.

For more details on both the training day and W4CR click on ‘Upcoming Events’ on the LH panel.
