Galleries are groups of pictures typically used to represent events such as Fun Days, and Come&Try Days. Pictures from random days on the water, visits to other locations and such like are better located within the Forums under topics such as Sailing Experiences or Location Reports

To create a new Gallery, follow these steps:

  • Firstly your user logon has to have a role of Author assigned to it to Add and Manage Galleries
  • Select Gallery from Dashboard menu
  • select Add Gallery / Images from the drop down menu
  • select Add New Gallery from tabs along the top of the menu

  • Type in a name for the Gallery and click Add Gallery
  • Next, upload images, using the window that appears below

  • Click on Bowse to open a file view of your local computer, brwose to the folder containing the picture(s), select them and click Open
  • Back on the window as above, choose the Gallery to upload to, then click Upload images. If no Gallery is selected, no images will be uploaded
  • To link a Gallery to the top level menus on the Home Page, do the following:
    • click on Manage Gallery on the left hadn side of the Dashboard
    • click on the Gallery name created in the list
    • in the next windows, next to Create New Page option, select the parent page from the drop down menu, eg Galleries/2011, and select Add Page

  •
    • That's it!
  • To change which Menu option a Gallery page is linked to, eg to change from Galleries/2011/FunDay, to Galleries/2010/FunDay
    • Go to Pages menu on the Dashboard and select Pages
    • on the list of Pages find the name that refers to the Gallery you want to change
    • select Quick Edit from the menu
    • From the Parent drop down menu, select the new Page to link to as the parent (in our example this will now be 2010, instead of 2011)
    • select Update

Many thanks James. This is such a benefit to be able to share photos.
