Just wanted to say thanks to Gareth and everyone else involved in the coaching last Saturday; found the tips really useful and enjoyed attending the event.  I think it's worth recognising the effort of everyone on the committee (and other helpers) who arrange these events and help create  an enthusiatic community at the club.

Conditions were pretty ideal – fronts coming through bring some strong westerley gusts; with light winds in between so we could all work on Gareth's tips!

Evening Carve,

Thanks for the write up to what I thought was a very good day and please you feel you picked a few things up.  The last few Big G's training days have had a good turnout, but this Saturday was by far the best (around 20).  It was good to see some new faces as well as the regular bunch.  I really get a feeling the club is moving in a good direction at the moment (more news on what's to come in the near future from the committee ).

For those of you who did not manage to get along, don't worry I will be doing a few more this year (let me move house first!).  If you are thinking to come along and wonder how the day works, here is an outline of what I do:

Session starts around 11:00 with most people rigged up and ready to go on the water. I have no formal plan on what to cover on the day as I try to cover what you guys want.  I invited you all to introduce yourselves and let me know what you wish to cover.  Using this I and any other instructors offer a few 'tops tips' (thanks to Martin for running the start windsurfing class Saturday).  After going through stuff on the beach it is time to hit that water and try things out.  If it is not planning conditions then it is not wasted as I have lots of little bits for you to try out that will help when you are going for whatever it is you are trying.  Areas normally covered include:

Start windsurfing, beach starts, water starts, harness, foot straps, fast tacks, planning tacks, carve gybes and just sailing fast!!!

I hope this has wetted your appetite and look forward to seeing more of you next time out.

Big G
