I’m pleased to tell you that the club 4.7m North Sail (this is the smallest of the four) has just been returned from the repairers (new bottom panel fitted), and, thanks to David Thorneycroft, will likely be returned to the kit hut on Saturday, or shortly thereafter, wind permitting!
Also, the pins on three of the mast bases were loose, and Tony West and I tightened them last week.
One member reported that the mast extension to club sail number 3 was missing, but it has been located left in a mast, has now been removed (stuck in with sand) and returned to the bag with Sail 3.
As far as I know, that means that all the club kit is restored to working order.
ENJOY YOUR SAILING, BUT PLEASE LOOK AFTER THE KIT WHEN YOU USE IT!!
The recent newsletter covered some aspects of kit care, including washing sand off kit, i.e.boards, sails, masts etc, and packing it up on the grass area, not on the beach.
Please report any problems with kit in the log provided in the kit hut, so we can deal with it.
Finally, PLEASE ENSURE THE KIT HUT DOOR IS LOCKED AT ALL TIMES WHEN NOT BEING ACCESSSED.
Thanks all.
