Seeing Martin advertising his F2 Bullit for sale reminded that, out of all the boards I've owned over the years, my own F2 Bullit Race is the one that I have fondest memories of. A fantastic board to progress on, very fast in its day, could handle all sorts of conditions and very comfortable to sail.
Probably going mouldy riound the back of someone's shed now! RIP
What's the best bit of kit you've ever owned?

A difficult one. Most of our boards have been excellent in at least one aspect and it's difficult to pick the best. We have collected quite a few, mostly 2nd hand. In no particular order ….
JP 78 Freestyle wave – I had one of my best sails ever at Wells, with a 4.7 in a F6
F2 lightening (1984)– good for 1980s race series at Hickling with Tony Myhill and Dave Humphrey etc, although I only ever won once!
1986 Lightening, rubbish. Lighter but too much rocker, and the main reason why it's now the beach bench!
F2 Bullit – first 'short board', resilient and first board I could gybe.
Titan 160L(2003)- my first modern board, still fast, good for Hickling as it carries a big sail and can coast through the lulls. A safe bet in most conditions.
Mistral screamer 128(2004), an excellent all-rounder. Our fastest board, uncannily smooth though chop, excellent with a 5-8m
JP super cross 106– great at Hickling or Wells, a very lively feel.
F2 Ride 288(1998?)- Ben's first board, now mine. It's the one to be on in a F6+ at Hickling, so narrow that it just cuts through the chop , very comfy and easy in wild conditions. Modern 115Ltr boards are just too wide.
F2 Comet – Wendy's first 'propper' board. Interesting memories of Wendy getting rescued in Cornwall in a F8/9 on it's maiden voyage.
Mistral Score 104. Ben's first eBay special sub £100. Great at Wells but not cool enough for Ben, so that's another one of my boards!
Starboard Formula 2002?The one that makes me smile the most when I'm sailing. It's unbelievable fun in light winds. Also makes other members laugh as they think I've brought the patio table for a sail ! Don't knock it until you've tried it.
..and the winner is.. Wendy's Mistral screamer 128. Fast, stable, good to gybe, good compromise and always great to sail at Hickling. It fell off the roof rack a few years back. We searched high and low but we could find it anywhere. A few weeks later one of the members saw a note in the Evening News asking the owner to claim it from the cells in Bethel St police station! On reflection, of all the boards we currently have then this is the one we would not like to loose.
A bit of a ramble, but it does mean that I now currently have more posts than anyone else –its unusual for me to lead anything nowadays.
