					                        <description><![CDATA[<p><span style="color: #0000ff">Galleries are groups of pictures typically used to represent events such as Fun Days, and Come&#038;Try Days. Pictures from random days on the water, visits to other locations and such like are better located within the Forums under topics such as Sailing Experiences or Location Reports</span></p>
<p>To create a new Gallery, follow these steps:</p>
<ul>
<li>Firstly your user logon has to have a role of Author assigned to it to Add and Manage Galleries</li>
<li>Select Gallery from Dashboard menu</li>
<li>select Add Gallery / Images from the drop down menu</li>
<li>select Add New Gallery from tabs along the top of the menu</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Type in a name for the Gallery and click Add Gallery</li>
<li>Next, upload images, using the window that appears below</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Click on Bowse to open a file view of your local computer, brwose to the folder containing the picture(s), select them and click Open</li>
<li>Back on the window as above, choose the Gallery to upload to, then click Upload images. If no Gallery is selected, no images will be uploaded</li>
<li>To link a Gallery to the top level menus on the Home Page, do the following:

<li>click on Manage Gallery on the left hadn side of the Dashboard</li>
<li>click on the Gallery name created in the list</li>
<li>in the next windows, next to Create New Page option, select the parent page from the drop down menu, eg Galleries/2011, and select Add Page</li>

<li>To change which Menu option a Gallery page is linked to, eg to change from Galleries/2011/FunDay, to Galleries/2010/FunDay

<li>Go to Pages menu on the Dashboard and select Pages</li>
<li>on the list of Pages find the name that refers to the Gallery you want to change</li>
<li>select Quick Edit from the menu</li>
<li>From the Parent drop down menu, select the new Page to link to as the parent (in our example this will now be 2010, instead of 2011)</li>
<li>select Update</li>

<p>when the list of Pages appears in the main window, move the mouse cursor over the Newsletters title and click Edit</p>

<p>When next window opens, click on position in page where you want the new newsletter to appear – insert a line if you need to, by pressing Enter on the keyboard – see blue circle below</p>

<p>        click on "add media" in menu bar – this is represnted as a sun icon (inside red circle above)</p>
<p>In the new "Add Media" window, Click Select Files and find pdf file</p>
<p>that you want to upload on your PC</p>
<p>click upload</p>
<p>Change title to "HWC Newsletter mmm yyyy" if necessary</p>
<p>Click Insert into Post</p>

<p><strong>1. Personalise avatars:</strong></p>
<p>Now you can easily add your own avatar (picture by your Forum name – see mine on the left). Your picture should be no more than 50 x 50 pixels.</p>
<p>Logon, go to the forum page, click on Profile on the forum page, click select avatar, upload and save profile.</p>

<p><strong>2. Galleries:</strong></p>
<p>email your pics to Martin, Dave B, Phil or Graham and we can publish them for you.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>3. Add photos to your posts (like the one below)</strong></p>
<p>And you can also add pictures with your forum updates: follow the instructions below. <span>Click on tree icon on toolbar = insert/edit image</span><br />
<span>Click on </span>browse icon to the right of Image URL box<br />
On the Upload tab on the new window, click browse and select image(s) to upload from local PC<br />
Once selected, click Upload<br />
Should get message stating file has been successfully uploaded<br />
Can then go to Browse tab of the SimplePress File Manager window and just click on image you want to use<br />
At the moment the Forum settings are that images must be less than 200Kb in size and must be one of these formats: jpg, jpeg, gif, png<br />
Max size of image can be changed to whatever we want and each user can store multiple images</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px">First of all, register. Then you can start contributing to the forums and leaving comments on posts. Registration is covered <a title="New Registrations" href="/forums/new-registrations/new-member-information#p2" target="_self">here</a>. </p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px">Once you&#039;ve registered, you can then update your profile to share a bit more information about yourself. To update your Forum profile, login to the site using the username and password from when you registered, open Forums on the top Page Menu Bar, then click on the word "Profile" as shown in the picture below:</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px">Within your profile, you&#039;ll see boxes for Personal Identity, Online Identity, Additional Information etc. Within additional information you can share windsurifng information such as boards you use, and sails. You can also upload an avatar which is the picture that will be shown next to your name against every post you make. The Forum gives you a generic basic one to start with, but you may want to change to something more personal such as a portrait picture, cartroon image or just something a bit more interesting. To save the profile, click on Update Profile on the left at the bottom.</p>
