Hi all,

doesn't look as though we have enough interest to make the racing happen tomorrow; i might go and race the dinghies anyway but I think the idea of organising anything is off with this North wind set-in

It looks pretty set in the North probably going North Easterly on Saturday the chance of any more West in it seems to be slippig away; good direction for Wells Graham but I wouldn't be able to go there.

I was ok for the 2nd but away on holiday on this Saturday. I'm aware there is a lot of interest, including some who are not registerred on the forum. If there is wind then I'm sure there will be a big enough group. Happy racing...Cheers, Martin

The breeze looks good for Saturday but it's set to blow from the North - I had a look at the Met Office pressure charts this morning and the weather system could go a bit more West. I am happy to go for it on Saturday but we need 4 or 5 to make it happen; a North wind is going to create more upwind sailing so let me know what you think

Hi All,

well it was fantastic weather this last weekend and hopefully we will get something similar for the racing on Saturday; I'll keep updating the thread throughout the week planned format as before first race at 11.00 "long distance" followed by two shorter course races

Hi All,

Saturday was pretty light so I think we made the right call to postpone; we are now going to run the regatta on Saturday the 16th. The sailing club are having their Autumn regatta this weekend so could be quite a few boats on the broad - could also be the chance to get in a warm-up prior to our event by racing the dinghies round!

Hi all,

weather forecasts still predicting light westerly shifting to the south - forecast has been pretty acurate all week and the nature of the weather systems doesn't offer much hope of a sudden change. With this forecast I think the racing planned for tomorrow should be rescheduled to the 16th; there seems to be plenty of interest and we really need some decent wind.

So No racing tomorrow but definately going to go for it on the 16th October - hope that works for everyone; jump on the thread if you think we should do it differently

Checked round the weather sites again this morning Windguru/XC weather/windfinder still same forecast for tomorrow pretty light westerly swinging to the south and building in the afternoon to 9 or 10 mph. I will check around again after this afternoon - we've got quite people talking about coming so we want to try and get a good sail out of it; the question is whether we hold off till the 16th in the hope of some October winds or go for it with the idea that we may get a bit more wind than forecast?

I agree- let's make the call tomorrow afternoon. If it's sub-planing, I'm out I'm afraid: my kit won't be competitive, even carrying my sylph like frame. Sorry to disappoint you & spoil your fantasy, Graham.
