Spring Race Day

Event Details

  • Date:

  • The first of three race days this year. The emphasis is on fun, and the format will be determined on the day depending on wind conditions. Numerous prizes, plus points will be accumulated with scores from the subsequent two events to determine a series champion.
  • When? Saturday 12 May
  • Time? Rigged and ready to be on the water for first race at around 10.30.
  • Finish? Probably around 3.00pm, once we’ve got a good number of races under our belts.
  • Who is it suitable for? If the conditions are right, we will be sailing beyond the point, so if you’re still learning the ropes and uncomfortable sailing that far out on the Broad, I’m sorry this may not be for you. However do still come along and enjoy some free sailing.
  • Rules? Yes, probably. I’ll work out what they are and brief them on the day.
  • Lunch/ refreshments? Nope, bring your own.
  • Equipment? If you have a watch with a stopwatch, chances are you may find it useful for the start of each race.
  • Interested? If you are, please add a comment or express an interest on this page (no commitment, but it will be helpful to get a rough idea of interest).
  • Able to help? I could do with somebody in the boat to help me run the event/ chat to to stop me getting bored! Let me know if you’re available.
