Members: As in previous years, please note the club is closed for member windsurfing until 3:30 pm as its just too busy on the beach. Sorry.

Update: We were pleased to be part of Dave White’s Sunrise to Sunset marathon – checkout Dave’s website and look at the pics at the bottom of the page here. Well done Dave.

The first major club event of the year, it’s a good opportunity to improve your skills to help get more fun out of  your Windsurfing. We will have our RYA qualified instructors on hand and it’s free of charge. The agenda is all down to you, we can offer advice from beginner to expert level, whether it’s developing the basics or perfecting your carve gybes.

With rising temperatures, then it’s a good time to have some fun down on the water and meet other members. We hope you can make it.

W4CR. For those that want to give something back, then we are also having our W4CR event on the 1 May. You can do this as well if you like, but please don’t feel you need to. The process is simple – set your challenge, get some sponsors, get the form off the W4CR page or make up your own, come along on the 1 May, adjust your personal challenge to suit the wind conditions, and go for it.

For more details on both the training day and W4CR click on ‘Upcoming Events’ on the LH panel.

Actual 2010 Fun day pic.
The smiles say it all…. another lovely day on the club beach, very warm and sunny as predicted! SE F2/3 winds fueled some excellent relay racing on the Fanatic Vipers. Ben’s team (slightly heavier weights) vs Gareth’s team. Neck and neck most of the way with Ben’s team pulling through in the end despite having the penalty of a smaller board and sail. Then into the freestyle competition judged by Chairman Dave Black and former UK Freestyle Champion Ben.
Lunch was to the usual high standards, thanks to Wendy.
Three races off  ‘the point’ in the afternoon topped off a typical social HWC fun day. Tony West wrapped his sail on the post to the amusement of all and Lisa’s laughter and race tactics almost brought the race to a standstill! Best parrot category, upwind 360s, best beginner, together with mens, ladies and childrens race winners – all amounted to some inventive judging and prizes all-round. Thanks to all, see you next year!    Please leave a comment!

If you want to do some racing then please keep an eye on the Forum pages for dates. One of the club’s members has offerred to take the lead and run some racing in the next few weeks. Just turn up on the day, agree some waypoints and off you go.

This is one of the highlights of the year for members. It’s all about joining in with light hearted competition, free lunch (the legendary sausages), prizes, and having fun .. of course.
